I love making my own yoghurt, mainly because its easy and I know exactly whats in it!
4 ingredients and you can flavour it with what ever you like. I like to sometimes puree some berries and swirl them in there. Or essential oils are great for flavouring your home made yoghurt. But when your mind draws a blank for flavours, its still tastes great plain!
It holds together and has a great consistency and is loaded with pro-biotics.
Takes probably 20mins to make and over night to set.
It will keep in the fridge for about a week in a sealed jar.
Firstly, pour the following ingredients into your blender
2 tins of full fat coconut milk
1 tsn psyllium husk
Blend on high for 3-4 mins until gooey and warm (you’ll see what I mean)
Then transfer to a bowl and stir in
1 tsp Maple
3 Pro-biotic capsules – powder only (I use Bio-k)
Cover with a bit of cheese cloth and a rubber band and leave in a warm, dry place overnight.
In the morning put your yoghurt in the fridge to chill.
Once chilled, return to the blender to make smooth and whella! Coconut yoghurt!
