There’s a story to every recipe and every experimentation.
This one is a rather cheeky one. I mean I love chocolate and coconut. We have a bad habit of heading to the bulk bin in any health food store and getting….too many off them.
This particular day was cold and pouring outside and I didn’t want to go out just yet, and I realised, I obviously had all the ingredients to make them myself. So I did…and they barely made it till Stu got home. Its always nice to share with him because he loves my treats and is genuinely upset when there are none in the house.
Although as simple as they are that’s what makes them so perfect to make for any occasion. Kids parties? Potluck? Lunch with your sister? decorate a cake? Something small, simple, versatile and hits that sweet craving on the head.
This recipe makes about 40 small buttons.
1/3 – 1/2 cup Raw Cacao
1/2 cup of Coconut oil and Cacao butter (combination of both)
2 cups of coconut shreds
1/3 cup of Maple
2 tbs Almond Butter
1/4 tsp Vanilla
pinch of salt
Melt the Coconut oil and cacao, using the double boiling method.
Add the maple to the bowl over the heat, once melted add to your food processor.
Put all ingredients(except coconut shreds) in the food processor to combine for about 30 seconds.
Remove from processor to bowl and mix in your desired amount of coconut shreds, then spoon onto tray to place in the freezer to cool.
Once chilled, you can eat!
